A Message from the President June 22, 2026
Dear OTBO Members,
As we reflect on the first half of 2026, the year began with a few challenges and a somewhat
rocky start, however, thanks to the dedication, resilience, and passion of our OTBO family, we
are back on track and excited about the many great things ahead for our organization and the
Ohio Thoroughbred industry.
We are kicking off renewed momentum with our upcoming Board of Directors election, held
June 22–26. Please be on the lookout for an email containing the link to the voting poll.
I want to recognize the exceptional nominees who have stepped forward to serve the OTBO:
Josh Creekmore, Nicole Higham, Carla Hosier, Paula Langley, Austin Mowery, Craig Powell,
Bob Rowe, and Robert Bogart.
Please be sure to cast your vote today through June 26th.
We have several exciting events on the horizon. On July 25, 2026, we will come together to
celebrate the achievements of our Ohio Thoroughbred community at the OTBO Awards Dinner
held at the Winking Lizard in Bedford Heights. This special evening gives us the opportunity to
recognize excellence, reconnect with fellow members, and celebrate our shared passion for
the industry. *Information on how to purchase your tickets later this week.
Looking ahead to fall, we will host the Ohio Mixed Sale on October 4, 2026. We look forward
to another successful sale that showcases the exceptional horses, breeders, owners, and
horsemen who make Ohio racing so special.
We will close out the year with the 2026 OTBO Annual Stallion Season Auction Sale on
December 3, 2026. We encourage all members to participate and support this important
event, which helps strengthen our association and the future of Ohio Thoroughbreds.
There is a great deal to look forward to, and I am confident that the remainder of 2026 will be a
strong, successful, and exciting chapter for the OTBO. Together, we will continue to build
momentum, strengthen our organization, and promote the growth of the Ohio Thoroughbred
industry.
