Hello everyone. The OTBO is proud to unveil our new website. Our banner pictures now feature our 3 great racetracks that offer year round racing in the Buckeye State! We hope you enjoy the content, pictures, information, and commentary. There is a lot of invaluable information on the farms, stallions, rules, and events important to Ohio racing. Check out the new Events Calendar that showcases the major happenings all in one easy to read place.
We will be reviewing and updating the site regularly but if you spot something that needs to be corrected, let us know.
Here are a few updates:
- The OTBO will be present at Thistledown on Best of Ohio Day August 13th! We will be doing our annual handicapping show with the incomparable voice of Thistledown – Mr. Matt Hook – prior to the day’s card. If possible, we will also do a paddock show before the stakes and interviews afterwards. Come out for some of the best racing in Ohio all year!
- There will be a board meeting at Thistledown in the morning on August 13th beginning at 9:45. All are welcome to attend. If you cannot make it, a phone in number will be made available on our website in this section.
- Our annual Mixed Sale is October 19th. Consigners – please enter your horses early. Ad Specials are available. The sale will be advertised in many National Publications including the Paulick Report, TDN, BH, and the DRF. Keep checking our website for more information.
- Advertisers are also encouraged to inquire about our special catalog rates! Great value and lots of exposure.
- The OTBO will be holding our election for new board members this fall. If anyone has any interest in running, please contact Mike Annechino at 330 356 8350 or send an email to ohiobreeders@gmail.com for more information.
- Please be sure to send in your mare reports by August 1st. Check out the story in our “Breeders Corner” for more details.
- The broodmare residency date is August 15th for those who currently have mares out of state or want to bring them into Ohio. Detailed description of the full rules can be found on our website under the OTRF tab.
