The OTBO puts on this sale as a way to facilitate interest in Ohio racing and provide a marketplace for all participants that are active in our programs. Along with the tremendous efforts of the Ohio HBPA, we have worked together to offer outstanding year round racing that features 43 stake races with over $3.6 million in purses exclusively for Ohio bred and accredited horses. In addition, there are multiple races carded daily for Ohio bred horses at all levels of competition. Many of these horses have come out of this sale including multiple stake winners!
We welcome and strongly encourage your active support in the 2020 sale as well as all of the programs we offer throughout the year.
Good luck to everyone on both sides of the auction ring!
MOBIL SOLUTION CREATES ADDED VALUE FOR SALE IN WINNING $75,000 CATLAUNCH
Ever want to own a multiple state champion, winner of $523,070 and winner of eight stakes races? At the Ohio Mixed Sale on October 15 – YOU CAN! Mobil Solution, winner of the Catlaunch Stakes on September 24th, will be offered for purchase at the Ohio Mixed Sale. He will be offered as Hip Number 12 as part of the Estate of Gerald Silver dispersal that will feature ten of his horses currently in training.
In the 1 1/16 mile Catlaunch, contested at Thistledown, strong favoritism went to lightly raced Buckeye Bullet. Louis Ruberto, Jr. is the owner, trainer and bred Buckeye Bullet with his wife. Breaking the gate quickly under Erik Barbaran, he established the lead through tepid early fractions of 24.00 and 49.24, but as he passed the half-mile marker he was joined by Pat’s Karma and Direct Deceit who matched strides around the turn.
Swinging wide into the stretch, Mobil Solution and Luan Machado swept by the top three and drew clear by 2 ¾ lengths in 1:47.26. Pat’s Karma was easily clear for the second spot over Direct Deceit rounding out the top three. Buckeye Bullet tired from the early pressure and faded to sixth. With his 9th career victory, Mobil Solution pushed his career earnings to $523,070. He was saddled by trainer Mike Rone after coming over from the stable of Jeff Radosevich, who had trained him in all of his previous lifetime starts.
Rone will handle the horses from the Estate of Gerald Silver through the upcoming sale. Mobil Solution is a 5-year-old gelding by Mobil out of Perfect Solution by Seeking the Gold. He was bred by Mapleton Thoroughbred Farm.
