The old man did it again! 8 year old Altissimo turned back 8 rivals including a very game Chief Randel to win the Babst Palacios Stake at Belterra. Trained by Richard Zielinski and owned by he and Nancy Lavrich, Altissimo engaged in an epic battle with Chief Randel the entire stretch run then survived an objection from that runner’s jockey to hang on for the victory. He was bred in Ohio by Nancy Lavrich and Niknar Farm LLC and ridden to victory by Ronny Allen Jr. in his first trip aboard the multiple Ohio Sprint Champion winner. The win today brings Altissimo within a few dollars of the $900,000 mark in career earnings.

Chief Randel was a very game second and Going in Style ran on to be third.
