Dancin’ Rosie, a 6 year old mare out of Vaquero by Kiss Me Darlin, made every pole a winning one in taking the Dr. T.F Classen Memorial Stakes on May 1st at Thistledown. She stopped the timer in 1:13:2, beating Edge of Night by 3.5 lengths. Mobil Lady was 3rd.

Dancin Rosie is trained by Jeff Radosevich for owner Mike Annechino and was ridden perfectly by jockey Jose Bracho, Jr.

“Rosie” was named after my grandmother who always loved to dance around her kitchen when she was cooking. Not only was Grandma Rose a good dancer but she was the best cook I ever met!” said Annechino.

As a 2 year old, when she was being broke the trainer at the site said she was the fastest horse he ever saw…going backwards! We then sent her to John Hoctel and he got her moving forward so that Jeff could take over. Hats off once again to Jeff Radosevich who nursed her through a variety of minor issues and had her peaking at just the right time.

Dancin’ Rosie is out of Vaquero who was owned by Roger Braugh, Jr., a Texas Oil and Gas man and friend of Annechino. “I convinced Roger to send Vaquero to Ohio. This is the second stake winner we have all held together (Blanconia won the Miss Ohio) and it is a real joy when a true friendship can turn out as a successful business as well.”
