The OTBO is very pleased to announce that the 2023 OTBO Mixed Sale will be held this year at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course! The time and date are the same: October 18th at 2:30 PM.
The decision was made with the idea of making things much easier for potential buyers to attend the auction. The horses will be in the Receiving Barn so it will also be easy and convenient for the consignors to get their horses back and forth.
We also plan on having online bidding available for those who cannot attend. Please keep checking our website for details on how to register. That information will also be in the catalog.
All horses that go through this sale, even in utero, will be eligible for the $50,000 OTBO Grad Race for three year olds in the year of the race that is held annually at Mahoning as well.
Mahoning will be opening the concessions on the lower grandstand prior to the auction to provide food and beverages for those who would like that.
The list of horses in the sale will be released shortly. Approximately 50 horses have been entered with a great selection of weanlings, yearlings, two year olds, and broodmares – most in foal to accredited stallions – available for smart buyers!
We also plan on adding a supplement of Horses of Racing Age to the catalog this year. We hope this gives all horse people an additional opportunity to add to their racing stables. Horse people – please contact the Otbo if you want any additional information on this opportunity. We will be walking the shed rows to gauge interest in the coming weeks.
The catalog will be mailed out the first week of October. It will also be on our website – Otbo.com – at that time as well as distributed to all of our racetracks.
