Love Spun Colt Wins Graded Stakes at Keeneland

Mike Annechino

Love Spun

Mapleton Thoroughbred Farm has a saying “You win with your mares”. Well…Mapleton’s broodmare band received national recognition when their mare Love Spun’s Midshipman’s colt won a graded stakes on opening day at Keenland.

SPECIAL RESERVE, trained by Michael J. Maker, won the Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes on October 8th and earned a spot in the upcoming Breeders Cup Sprint next month at Del Mar.

Love Spun presently has a Cowtown Cat weanling and is bred back to Cowtown Cat.

Congratulations to Mapleton on this success. It is becoming readily apparent that Ohio Breeders are stepping up their game. The proof of this can be seen on Friday at the OTBO Mixed Sale at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. Come out and pick yourself the next Graded Stakes winner!
