Tim Hamm’s Tantrum, owned and bred by WinBlaze LLC, came with a rush and nailed Country Club Bobby by a neck to win the Darryl Parker Tall Stack Stakes at Belterra Park on Friday May 6th.

Tantrum covered the 6.5 furlongs over a sloppy track in 1:18:75. Hip Hip Hooray checked in third in the six horse field. Malcolm Franklin expertly piloted Tantrum to the win waiting patiently at the back of the field then circled up widest of all to make the winning stretch run.

The $75,000 stake for 3 year old Ohio Breds was renamed in honor of the late Darryl Parker last year. Parker was a long time figure in Ohio racing and most recently a steward at Thistledown. He is the father of Hall of Fame jockey DeShawn Parker.

Belterra will host the first Best of Ohio Day of 2022 on June 3rd. Five $100,000 stakes for Ohio Breds will be featured on the program. Also, the Annual Best of Ohio Champion Awards and Trophies sponsored by the OTBO will be presented to the winners during the early races. We encourage everyone to come out to enjoy and celebrate the Best of Ohio racing!

Congratulations to all of the winning connections of Tantrum!
