Henry Mast’s Edge of Night captured the $75,000 Dr. T.F. Classen Memorial Stakes on April 28th at Thistledown by a widening length at the finish. Ridden by Guillermo Rodriguez for trainer Bob Gorham, the 5 year old bay mare by Added Edge out of the Discreet Cat mare Cargo Jet beat the Rodney Faulkner trained  and owned duo of Catabout and Runlikejackieo in a time of 1:12:48 for the six furlong distance. Dr. Steve DeMaiolo bred the winner in Ohio.

Gorham said “I was on the fence about getting a race into her before this and decided at the last minute to put her on the trailer and run at Mahoning. That race was just the tightener she needed as she moved forward off of that very nicely!”

Faulkner said before the race “My two fillies will give a good account of themselves. They are improving and feeling good. I expect them both to run big.”

Congratulations to the winning connections!
