Alexandria, a 3 yr old filly by Constitution out of the Spring at Last mare Spring Water toyed with the 11 horse field in the Norm Barron Queen City Oaks before pulling away to a 10 3/4 length victory in 1:45:03. Shez Shacked up and Angel’s Sassy checked in second and third respectively.

Trained by Tim Hamm for owner’s Blazing Meadows Farm LLC, Winstar Farm LLC, and Michael Lewis, the standout filly was piloted by Santiago Gonzalez. Blazing Meadows and Winstar are also the breeders of this special filly.

This was Alexandria’s 5th win from 7 starts and 4th stake triumph. Going forward, it will be interesting to see how she matches up against older horses as well as her stablemate, Esplanande. Alexandria paid $2.80 to win as the heavy favorite.
